one-north and Mediapolis around Bloomsbury Residences

Bloomsbury Residences is the first private residential development to break ground in Mediapolis, the media quarter of one-north. This guide looks at the district, the employers within walking and cycling distance and the housing planned around it.

one-north and Bloomsbury Residences

one-north is the business district of about 200 hectares master-planned, according to the developer’s brochure, by Zaha Hadid Architects, and run by JTC as a cluster for research and development in biomedicine, the physical sciences, engineering and infocomm media. The brochure, quoting JTC’s guide, counts more than 500 multinational companies, 800 start-ups and 50,000 knowledge workers in the district, with investment of more than seven billion dollars.

Mediapolis, where the development stands, is the precinct for media and infocomm. Mediacorp Campus is about 350 metres from the site in a straight line on OneMap, Infinite Studios about 220 metres and Alice@Mediapolis about 230 metres; Fusionopolis and Biopolis are each about a kilometre away.

Housing Planned around Bloomsbury Residences

In May 2024, the Urban Redevelopment Authority proposed amendments to its master plan for Media Circle and Portsdown Road, preparing several parcels there for homes with retail at ground level; the developer’s brochure, citing URA, estimates more than 2,000 planned residential units in the area. Once marked only for commercial use, the estate is becoming a residential community, and the brochure describes Bloomsbury Residences as the first luxury home in it.

The shopping and dining guide covers them, and the location page gives every distance from Bloomsbury Residences.
